CORE 7 Promotes the wellbeing of the minster, spouse and church nationally and internationally

What we do.

CORE 7 through its states chapters provides guidance to ministers and their spouses in building an authentic identity outside of full time vocational ministry, expands one’s social and ministry network, events, seminars, life coaching, monthly zoom workshops, women and spouse support, a fall national conference for personal enrichment, and redeploying ones gifts and leadership to help strengthen churches in a consulting or mentoring role.

At CORE 7, luncheons meet the third Thursday of designated months. Speakers are informative, inspirational and at times add laughs to the years behind and days ahead. 3DE Experience

DARE – Dare to Discover “Who You Are” Small Group Experience. A CORE 7 guided small group experience that challenges you to explore a new sense of identity and purpose while exploring emotions of whole-hearted living. Designed to help you discover the principles of accepting, embracing and making changes to redefine your purpose after a career of service in ministry.​

Annual National Conference

Join colleagues from around the nation in Glorieta, NM each October as the Fall air stirs the spirit and the mountains speak of the wonders of God’s creation. The colors of the aspens inspire the heart, soul and mind. The CORE 7 Annual Conference promotes the well-being of ministers and spouses as they transition towards or are already in retirement.
(2020 National Conference postponed due to COVID-19.)

Being semi-retired I also participated in CORE 7 3DExperieince by the Aspire International Foundation “Dare to Define Your Destiny” for ministers who are considering retirement in a few years or those who have retired. I found the information shared and the discussions to be informative, pertinent and helpful as I adjust to being semi-retired. I was uncertain about the equine experiences but found the time with the horses to be enjoyable, instructive, and the experience with the horses help create an awareness in me for handling life issues. The Horses will give you a fresh look and feel at your authenticity, courage, self-compassion, and trust. They will help guide you into discovering and embracing your strengths as well as your vulnerabilities.

It has been great to reconnect with some old buddies through Core7. Even though I am still working part-time for a ministry, I enjoy the luncheons and the fellowship with some guys I have known for many years. Many of them I have not seen in a long time, but we picked up just like we have been in touch all of these years. Relationships with other Ministers of Education never die and it seems we always have something to talk about. I encourage you, if you are retired or close to it, to get connected to this group. Lots of good things are in the works and you will find old friends, new friends and opportunities for service through Core7.

I was so blessed when Steve Stanley and Bob Ed Shotwell invited me to attend a small gathering of Ministers of Education down near Austin to discuss establishing a new fellowship of Ministers that were in churches that were not large enough for us to be a part of METRO. I have been involved for all these years and have now found my self staring at Retirement from full time ministry very soon. Once again Steve Stanley reached out and asked me to consider helping him to form a new fellowship for those Ministers of Education that are retired or within five years of retirement. Already it is proving to be a joy and blessing to reconnect with old friends and meet new friends through this ministry.
